New Orleans Shell Shocker Ged Quinn was named to the United Soccer League’s Premier Development League’s Team of the Week. Quinn received the honor for his standout performance in the Shell Shocker’s past two home games in which he posted one goal and one assist in the shutouts.
Quinn, a 23 year old defender in his first season with the Shell Shockers, hails from Jarrow, England. At 6’2’’ he has frustrated offensive opponents with his speed, agility, and reflexive ability to mark players.
Shell Shockers General Manager Amanda Miller is pleased that Quinn crossed the pond to play for the Shockers and believes that he will play an integral role in the Shell Shocker’s defense this season.
“Ged has played solidly for us since he arrived in New Orleans. In the two games he's played we have not given up a goal which is a testament to how well he has fit into the defensive unit. We're proud of him for making the PDL Team of the Week and hope that this is just the first of many honors for our Shell Shockers players.”
The Shell Shockers (1-1-2) will return to play on Friday, June 1 when they take on the Mississippi Brilla FC in a home game at Muss Bertolino Stadium in Kenner. The match kicks off at 7:30PM.
