Baton Rouge, LA (March 28, 2007) - A packed house at the LSU Soccer Stadium saw the New England Revolution defeat the New Orleans Shell Shockers by a score of 4-0 .
The Revolution got off to a quick start when Adam Cristman scored on a pass from James Riley in the second minute. The Major League Soccer-side got a scare in the 24th minute when the Shell Shocker’s Ronnie Flores broke through the defense. His shot went just wide of the goal; much to the dismay of the Pro-New Orleans crowd.
In the 33rd minute the Shell Shockers barely avoided an own goal as defender Chris Brown's clearance barely went over the bar. New England was unable to capitalize on the subsequent corner.
New England pounced on a deflected ball in the 56th minute when two players collided in the box. The ball fell to Khano Smith, whose one-timer went past the outstretched arms of Shell Shockers goalie Tom Gott and into the lower left-hand corner of the goal.
The Revolution wouldn't wait long to increase their lead as Arsene Oka tallied his first goal of the night just three minutes later.
The game ended early for Flores who was handed a red card in the 75th minute as the result of a difficult challenge. New England would tack on one more score for good measure as Oka recorded his second goal of the night in the 85th minute.
