Media Kit: Archived Press ReleasesShell Shockers Announce New Assistant G.M. and Assistant CoachMarch 8, 2007The Shell Shockers have announced two new additions to their staff for the 2007 season. Amanda Miller will handle operations as Assistant General Manager and Stephen McAnepsie will return to the Shell Shockers as Assistant Coach. Amanda Miller also joins the Shell Shocker organization this year, taking over Assistant General Manager duties. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Shell Shockers PDL team, as well as coordinating special events, such as the upcoming match between Honduras’ Olimpia and Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution. Amanda comes to the Shockers from sunny Tampa, Florida, where she worked at the United Soccer League’s headquarters. After spending four years with the then-USL First Division Richmond Kickers, Amanda spent two years as the Associate Director of Public Relations for the USL. Of his new Assistant G.M. Farrell stated, "When I thought about filling this position, I could not think of a more suitable individual than Amanda to fill it. I believe her experience will enhance the organization and I am thankful that we were lucky enough to recruit her." Stephen McAnepsie returns to the Shockers after a one-year absence during which time he served as head coach of the Indiana Invaders. As head coach for the Invaders, McAnepsie nearly led his team to a PDL championship in their inaugural year. Despite his recent absence, McAnespie has a history, both on and off the field, with the New Orleans Shell Shockers as both a player and assistant coach. Before moving to New Orleans in 2003, McAnespie enjoyed a storied professional career in Europe, playing in the English Premier League for Fulham and the Bolton Wanderers. Shell Shockers Head Coach Kenny Farrell commented, "I am very pleased to have Stephen McAnepsie return as Assistant Coach. There is no one more qualified to fill this position than he is. He was, and will continue to be, an asset to the team."
