Two New Orleans Shell Shockers Honored
Quinn, Davies Twice Named to PDL Team of the Week

James Davies
For the second time in two weeks; the New Orleans Shell Shockers have had a player named to the PDL Team of the Week. Two Shell Shockers; Jamie Davies and Ged Quinn, have been honored for the second time this season.
Davies, a midfielder in his first season with the Shell Shockers, was commended for his performance in the June 22nd match against Baton Rouge. The William Woods graduate, and London native, posted a goal and an assist in the 2-2 draw. With his uncanny knack for sending curving crosses, Davies has frustrated the defense of many Mid-South teams. Davies leads the Shell Shockers in points, having accumulated eleven by scoring three goals and assisting on five.
Teammate, and fellow British import, Ged Quinn was honored this week for his standout performance in the Shell Shockers’ record-breaking 8-1 victory over the Austin Lightning. The 6’2’’ defender scored two goals in Saturday’s match, netting one goal from a distant 70 yards. Having scored four goals this season; Quinn is tied with teammate Gino Ray as leading goal-scorer for the Shell Shockers.
Ged Quinn
"We are very proud of Ged and Jamie for once again being honored by the USL," commented General Manager Amanda Miller. "With 63 teams in the PDL, it is extremely difficult to separate yourselves from the pack. We've had other players with outstanding performances who have come close to making the cut, so it just goes to show how much of an honor it is to make the team of the week."
Davies, Quinn, and the Shell Shocker squad will take to the field this Friday when they battle the DFW Tornados at Muss Bertolino Stadium, with the final regular season home game against the El Paso Patriots on Saturday night. Both matches kick off at 7:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
