Shell Shockers Trounce Austin 8-1

Austin Lightning-1(Dixit 11’)
The Shell Shockers trounced the Austin Lightning, 8-1, in what became a record-breaking night for New Orleans. The Shell Shockers set a franchise record for most goals scored in one game with six different players lighting up the scoreboard.
First Half-
6th minute - The Shell Shockers build a wall as Austin is awarded a free kick just 20 yards out. Ged Quinn blocks the ball when Lightning forward Vijay Dixon blasts the wall with his shot.
8th minute - GOAL- New Orleans posts their first goal of the match when Jamie Davies sends the ball to teammate Brandon Chagnard who buries it in the lower left corner of Austin’s net.
10th minute - Just two minutes later the Shell Shockers are awarded another corner. Jamie Davies sends the ball to Luke Tyburski. Austin’s goalkeeper Chris Sanders prevents Tyburski from adding another Shell Shocker goal.
11th minute - GOAL- A loose ball in the midfield is flicked to Austin’s VJ Dixit who easily knocks the ball past New Orleans goalkeeper Dustyn Brim to post Austin’s first goal of the match.
20th minute - New Orleans’ Luke Tyburski is shown a yellow card when he records his third foul of the match.
23rd minute - Gannon Webb dribbles the ball into the box, sending his shot just wide of the net.
27th minute - GOAL- When Josh Couvillion’s first shot is deflected, he takes a second shot; slamming the ball into the net.
30th minute - New Orleans is awarded a free kick when Jamie Davies taken down just outside the box.
38th minute - GOAL - When New Orleans is awarded a corner kick, Jamie Davies sends the ball into the box where Luke Tyburski finds it; heading it into the net.
43rd minute - The Shell Shockers Josh Couvillion flicks the ball to PJ Kee whose shot is just inches wide of Austin’s net.
45th minute - GOAL- Ged Quinn gives the Shell Shocker fans a reason to cheer when he scores from 70 yards out. Luke Tyburski is credited with the assist.
Second Half-
52nd minute - GOAL - Quick on his feet, PJ Kee slips the ball to Brandon Chagnard who easily knocks the ball past Austin’s goalkeepers outstretched arms.
62nd minute - GOAL - Jamie Davies scores from Brandon Chagnard bringing the score to 6-1.
73rd minute - Dean Grey runs onto Jamie Davies cross. Austin’s Chris Sanders makes an excellent save temporarily keeping the Shell Shockers at bay.
75th minute - Austin’s Giovanni Barletta is shown a yellow card when he fouls Gannon Webb.
77th minute - Just two minutes later, Barletta is ejected from the match when he receives his second yellow card.
81st minute - GOAL - Steven Duncan sends the ball to Ged Quinn who records his second goal of the match.
90th minute - GOAL - PJ Kee sends the ball to Jared Wooley who gets his first goal of the season.
